Revelations on Sufficiency
Insufficient, I believe sometimes that adequacy is power, Such believe projected by harsh reflection; They recognize only that which they despair most Of self. I run six marathons daily In hopes that today I do not offend. Commentators tear those in light to shreds - Athletes and icons of sorts- Idealizing a potential for perfection And I remain shielded By a shotty bulb And a dusty, festered stage. A desire to share And to yield progress And to reach sufficiency… I need only shield eyes, Block ears, Pinch nose, Part lips, And stretch fingers out, reaching… Processing… Promise to taste the resentment And to redirect, acknowledging it is only fear Or insufficiency Nipping at your heels As you stride forward carefully, Or carelessly, Determined to taste every sweet and salty flavor Dealt by this world, And to determine that it is sufficient.
